Lafayette, Louisiana Lawyer Dedicated to Serving the Local Community

William Bryan Bull, Attorney at Law

As an estate planning, probate, real estate and business attorney, I help individuals and businesses in Lafayette and throughout Acadiana plan for the future as well as resolve today's problems. Since 1991, I have provided knowledgeable and reliable legal counsel with a compassionate and considerate approach.

Earning and retaining your trust is very important to me, and I keep you involved at every step. I take pride in the number of long-term client relationships I have built over the years, many of which have lasted nearly 20 years. Contact me today - I look forward to serving you.

Business Law

Before I began practicing law, I was a small business owner for 10 years in Lafayette. I know the local community well and understand the particular needs of business people. I have represented a wide variety of clients, in construction, agriculture, retail, restaurants - you name it. Every client has unique needs and concerns and I will work with you to develop a plan of action that fits your business, including:

If you are starting a new business, restructuring an existing company or terminating a business, I can guide you through the legal process and help you make informed decisions. Call 337-234-4060 or e-mail me to schedule a consultation.

Estate Planning and Probate

Over the years, I have helped many people in the community develop estate plans tailored to their specific personal situation. Planning your estate will save your loved ones expensive and time-consuming probate proceedings, as well as relieve them of the burden of decision-making should you become incapacitated, or after you pass.

We will work together to create Estate Planning instruments, including Wills and Trusts. Your wishes can be met, regarding how your Estate will be distributed, who will care for your dependents if something were to happen to you and who will make your medical and financial decisions if you cannot. In addition, I am experienced with creating Special Needs Trusts for disabled children or spouses.  You can now create a Trust that effectively addresses asset protection and maintaining quality of life for your family.

If you have been named the executor of a will, opening probate and administrating the estate can be complicated and confusing. I will walk you through the process with compassion and skill, helping you make informed decisions.

See my estate planning page for more information.

Real Estate

I have extensive experience with real estate and business closings. I regularly assist my clients with Oil, Gas & Mineral Leases, an important asset in todays economy. I create documents for my clients who wish to sell property using credit sales. In addition, my office closes home sales under the direction of local banks and mortgage companies.

Since 1993, I have worked on projects with the New Orleans Corps of Engineers in East Baton Rouge, Iberville, St. Landry, St. Martin, St. Mary, and Iberia parishes (the Atchafalaya Basin). These projects require the identification of multiple ownership interests for purposes of establishing flowage, drainage and environmental easements.

I have also assisted clients with oil, gas and mineral leases and interests.

Call 337-234-4060 or e-mail me to schedule a consultation for your estate planning, probate, business or real estate matter. My office is open 8 to 5, Monday to Thursday, 8 to 3 on Fridays and closed daily 12 to 1 for lunch. Weekend and after-hours appointments are also available. My office is conveniently located in downtown Lafayette, close to the city, parish and federal courthouses.
